As a lawyer he advises companies on a wide range of competition law issues, ranging from cartel enforcement to abuse of dominant position and to pre-merger notification assessment, with a focus on commercial and regulatory issues. In the past two decades he advised the Italian Ministry of Foreign Trade on International Trade and Competition Law issues; worked at the Enforcement Division of the Office of Fair Trading (now Competition and Markets Authority, CMA) in London, Branch 'Media, Sport and Communications Industries', and worked with the General Counsel of a global telecoms player on public procurement and UK/European Competition Law. In Italy he recently advised one of the largest operators in the retail industry on unfair competition and State aid issues, one of the largest associations of undertakings on distribution, price composition and vertical-integration dynamics, and on a State aid issue for a major European client.
