È membro dello Studio dal 1986 e Managing Partner dal 2001. E' attivo nei settori del Diritto Societario, Commerciale ed Amministrativo. Ha curato numerose acquisizioni e riorganizzazioni societarie, coordinando tutte le relative attività compresa la predisposizione di data room, rapporti di due diligence, accordi contrattuali, patti parasociali e accordi di investimento in genere. Ha organizzato e coordinato numerose attività di audit interno per primari gruppi italiani e multinazionali in relazione a procedimenti di natura civile, regolamentare e penale. Ha maturato una particolare esperienza, tra l'altro, nel settore Farmaceutico e Sanitario. In tale ambito si è occupato di recente della cessione, da parte della Fondazione Regionale per la Ricerca Biomedica della Regione Lombardia, del Centro di Ricerca di Nerviano, nonché della riorganizzazione società di Alliance Medical, attiva nel settore delle prestazioni diagnostiche (TAC, risonanze magnetiche e radiologia).
Ha ricoperto e/o ricopre tuttora la carica di Sindaco e di membro dell’OdV in numerose società appartenenti a gruppi multinazionali: Stryker Italia (Presidente del Collegio Sindacale e membro dell’Organismo di Vigilanza), Mundipharma Pharmaceuticals (Presidente del Collegio Sindacale), Panta Distribuzione (Presidente del Collegio Sindacale), Società Italiana Brevetti (Presidente del Collegio Sindacale), Aersud Elicotteri, Helicopters Italia, British American Tobacco Italia S.p.A., British American Tobacco Southern Europe S.p.A. In altri ambiti, è stato coinvolto fin dagli anni Novanta nella liberalizzazione del Settore Energetico in Italia, rappresentando soggetti italiani ed esteri nello sviluppo e nel finanziamento di centrali elettriche a ciclo combinato e di impianti di scarico-energia. Negli ultimi quindici anni si è occupato di energie rinnovabili in qualità di consulente in relazione allo sviluppo di nuove iniziative eoliche e fotovoltaiche, negoziando contratti IPC e O&M e finanziando progetti energetici, in particolare come consulente dello sponsor. Le sue aree di attività includono inoltre anche questioni finanziarie con particolare attenzione al contenzioso commerciale e normativo, compresi il diritto penale dell'economia, il contenzioso regolamentare e l'arbitrato.
Formazione:
Laurea in Giurisprudenza magna cum laude presso l’Università degli Studi di Roma “La Sapienza” nel 1981. Ha frequentato la Scuola della Pubblica Amministrazione a Roma nel 1981-1982; ha altresì seguito un programma introduttivo al diritto americano presso la Georgetown University Law School, Washington, U.S.A. (1982). Master of Laws (LL.M.) presso la University of Michigan Law School, U.S.A., nel 1983. Avvocato registrato in Inghilterra e Galles.

He distinguished himself for the role he played in civil and criminal litigations linked to the wellknown disputes concerning derivatives trades of the City of Milan. In particular, he was one of the few business lawyers who was also part of the panel (consisting of 14 lawyers) who represented the banks and the nine executives convicted in the first instance proceeding for fraud on the derivative contracts entered into Palazzo Marino [the City of Milan n.d.r.] the Milan Court of Appeal acquitted all the defendants overruling with an historic decision the previous ruling of the Tribunal.

Macchi di Cellere Gangemi is best known for its project finance practice and more specifically its energy and utilities infrastructure practice, where even in a slow market it continued to pick up mandates related to solar, wind and biogas plant financings. “In project finance for renewable assets Macchi di Cellere is, in our view, superior to its competitors,” says one client and another agrees. Project finance
Macchi di Cellere Gangemi’s project finance and infrastructure practice is headed by Claudio Visco and Claudia Bruscaglioni who are based in Rome and Milan respectively. Peers say the firm has a strong energy practice and note “it is involved in some important deals” in this area. After a succession of recommendations the firm is promoted to tier three.
Deals: Recent highlights for the firm include assisting Siciliacque in securing a €165 million facility from Banca Intesa and UniCredit Banca Mediocredito to reconstruct the primary water distribution network for Sicily.
